Quakwars ingame footage (6 mins)

They did say the game was going to be a lot more squad based but judging by that vid everyones buggered off on their own & stomping around in mechs,
hopefully it wont be like that in the final version!

Although the icarus does look bloody cool :D

Games been on my wanted list for a while now, I just hope it does not become a long waiting game like STALKER

I thought it would be the other way around, didnt quake wars begin development before battlefield 2142?

isn't that whats its supposed to be?

i think so, but from reviews and things I was expecting something on the lines of quake4 and bf2 with that little something that makes it special

And I suppose your gonna be getting battlefield 2142? Which really is just a bf2 mod.

lol. well said
are you lot that are saying its a rip off of other games totally ignoring the game modes and the fresh ideas theyve put in there that arent in any other game yet?

When I used 'rip-off' I should've probably said 'inspired by' ;)

I think it looks really good to be honest... Slightly more compact than how I remember BF2 and to be honest, I've always liked the feel of the quake games so I think that'll help.

The important thins is: I want a setup like that for my LAN! :D

From the video its looks like there goning to have the same kind task based objectives as in enemy territory. I was hopping that they would go this way as the enemy territory stlye of play encourages team work. The battlefield 'hold the flags' style of play just bores me.I think its gona rock :) .

It looks good will have to really play it to see how it is, its looking fast paced though dunno if tatical/strategy will go well with such a fast pace.

But it does look so involved that game :)

yeah, that type was used in the "Front Line Force" mod used on HL1 way back, IMO FLF was better than CS as it was more team play and less crud, but didn't have the following that CS enjoyed at the time.

also the orginal creator of FLF (Adrian Finol) now works for valve
