Quality chocoloate find today...

Don't send it to Lindt whatever you do... a few years ago I got a big bar of Dairy Milk that had a big wad of hair in it, I stupidly sent it to cadbury's to which they tried to fob me off with it being fibres from some packaging (it was very clearly hair, I even remember a few of them having one of those little white bud root) and all I got was a sorry + a replacement bar. Boned :(

I wish this happened to me, I absolutely ADORE Lindt chocolate, specifically the Lindor milk balls. I'd complain and get so much free chocolate.

Get down to Macro, they do a big box of them for a tenner :D

Dunno about the UK, but I was reading the US action limit of 60 insect parts per 100g of chocolate. Does that count as one part lol?

CHOCOLATE AND CHOCOLATE LIQUOR
Insect filth (AOAC 965.38)

Average is 60 or more insect fragments per 100 grams when 6 100-gram subsamples are examined

OR

Any 1 subsample contains 90 or more insect fragments

Rodent filth (AOAC 965.38)

Average is 1 or more rodent hairs per 100 grams in 6 100-gram subsamples examined

OR

Any 1 subsample contains 3 or more rodent hairs

Shell (AOAC 968.10-970.23)

For chocolate liquor, if the shell is in excess of 2% calculated on the basis of alkali-free nibs

DEFECT SOURCE: Insect fragments - post harvest and/or processing insect infestation, Rodent hair - post harvest and/or processing contamination with animal hair or excreta, Shell - processing contamination
SIGNIFICANCE: Aesthetic

Tempted to copy+paste the picture and send my own compaint in as well. Lindt chocolate is so good! And this definitely isn't enough to put me off.

Reckon they'd realise before they sent me vouchers? :p

(Not serious btw, I realise that would probably be fraud or something that they could nail me for)

Looking at the hole, first thing that comes to mind is the larvae was in the hazelnut and has burrowed out :)

I had a the Dark milk one about 30minutes ago but opened it whild watching a film with lights of so hopefully mine wan't like that.

I would milk it! Isn't it if you get a Kit Kat that is solid (not a bad thing) and you complain they give you a box worth off Kit Kat for 3 months ( 1 a day)? That's what i heard

Thought i would enlarge it for the forums benefit:D:

You can see the hole it probably bored out of about a centimetre to the left of its head. I still think lindt chocolate is tasty, not really been put off.

In this procedure, FDA's technical and regulatory experts in filth and extraneous materials use a variety of criteria, often in combination, in determining the significance and regulatory impact of the findings.

The criteria considered is based on the reported findings (e.g., lengths of hairs, sizes of insect fragments, distribution of filth in the sample, and combinations of filth types found).

Probably goes in your favour.
