I'm looking to up my stationary game. I want a good quality leather notebook around A5 size and pen/pencil set. I attend many more meetings than I used to an find myself eyeing up other peoples pens and notepads. I guess I'm getting old!!

Ideally a notebook where I can replace used pages with a fresh book, so a sleeve type arrangement without it looking like a sleeve.

Pen and pencil, I'm not looking for a set. Rollerball would be fine with a case.

Appreciate any info you guys can give me.

Bic & a Pukka :D

I have a Cross pen, which is really nice. Well worth checking them out. I did use it in meetings, but then got paranoid that I'd lose it. It's worth a fair bit and has lots of sentimental value. So these days it's a Bic or whatever writes nicely!

Edit: there are also the Fisher Space pens, although never used or seen one. Some of them look nice on the site though.

Tablet and OneNote. You can buy a fancy sleeve for it and have your choice of stylus.

I always liked Molskine notebooks - got me through 5 years of Uni in field and in the classroom. I always preferred a staedtler mechanical pencil to any pen too.

Thanks for the replies :)

I did think about going down the tech route but I like old fashioned ink and paper.

ajf - I looked at that notebook yesterday and thought it fit the bill. Just want to look around a bit more before pulling the trigger :)

I have a Cross ATX in matt chrome for daily writing tasks, a gift from a work placement 10 years ago. Not managed to lose it yet. Writes really well if you use good paper.

Having tried many different notebooks over the years of various types, I have quite happily settled on a Moleskine. Keeps itself neat and tidy, nice paper, a classic look. I'd thoroughly recommend one over any leather cases with random bits of paper in.

You need an extravagantly dressed dwarf using an Ostrich quill and only the ink from a giant Squid to inscribe your notes directly on to the back of tamed Swans if you really want to impress. Use Geese instead of Swans if you don't want to come across as too pretentious.

I have an A4 zipped folder, holds pens, cards, takes a slip in A4 pads, I use yellow legal pads so I can easily spot my notes in folders with A4 white paper printouts, it is very useful for meetings and taking notes. Plus your stuff zips in nice and safe.

Google conference folder and you will get the idea.
