Quantum computing

HAHA loool has anyone heard of the first cpu with organic nerves in it, was reading a magazine about, was pretty impressive

so *** will be the benefit of a quantum computer when they actually do start getting better why are they better than normal comp? didnt read wiki to much hard work and long words .

Basically, the active qubits (think transistors) are able to be in more than one state (think 1 and 0) at any one time so more than one calculation can be done at once meaning you can decode almost any crypto in a fraction of the time that a normal computer could do it in.... for instance.

sounds like a extreme machine, do you think they will think higher than us ?
Without a program written by a human it won't "think" at all. So no.

in theory a quantum computer would be a ble to solve any encryption makeing 128 bit encryption useless , and most security systems for banks etc obselete
cool eh! :)

Instead of each bit in a register being a 0 or 1, it is both 0 and 1 at the smae time....
Given a 128bit search space, a 2*128qubit computer could search it in 1 cycle. A normal computer would take 2/\128 steps.
Thereby you can say could by to RSA encryption.
