It has been a year and a half since developer Kim Swift left Valve for Airtight Games, where she was given the offer to lead a team and work on her own project. Following up on an idea that came to her during a stroll to the local bakery, Swift wanted her new game to appeal to a broad audience while still challenging the hardcore gamer--similar to the critically acclaimed Portal. Quantum Conundrum is her team's new venture, a first-person puzzle platformer set in an inexplicably large mansion with themes heavily rooted in science. Your puzzle-solving tool is an IDS (interdimensional shift device) glove that lets you shift dimensions--therefore changing the physics of your environment--as you make your way down to the bowels of the manor.

Following the game's unveiling yesterday, Square Enix and Airtight Games officially announce Quantum Conundrum, calling their first project from Portal co-creator Kim Swift "a quirky and engaging first-person platform puzzle game." This offers some additional details about the game, and is accompanied by this trailer and some screenshots and word that the Quantum Conundrum Website is now online. "The team at Airtight Games is creating an engaging puzzle game complete with a charming story and witty, humorous touches throughout," said Mike Fischer, chief executive officer of Square Enix, Inc. "We’re confident Quantum Conundrum will appeal to a broad audience and are thrilled to be part of the team that will bring this game to life." Continue here to read the full story.

Quantum Conundrum (by one of the makers of Portal)

Surprised there has been no thread on this!

Made by one of the original Portal creators (Kim Swift) It's a similar styled first person puzzler that has you as a child trying to locate your missing uncle (scientist Professor Quadrangle) in his mansion. You use a device that lets you change dimensions to help you solve puzzles.

It's not quite got Portal's polish but the humour is pretty good and the puzzles are a bit more difficult than Portal's but brilliant. It's about 7 hours to just run through it but there are hidden collectables and time/shift challenges as well. Pretty good value for the price.

Trailer:

It's available on Steam either on it's own or as a package with the upcoming DLC :)

I'd give it a solid 8.5/10

Curses, I should have searched really :p

I thought there might be a thread from a while back but I didn't see anything over the weekend when I thought people might be playing it. Anyway mine has a trailer and user opinion so is clearly better :p

Yeah a lot of people complained that Portal was too easy though.

I found this the right level, it's occasionally very challenging but I never got frustrated.
