quantum of solace letdown

Well 99% is harsh. If you include films based on games then I'd say it was 50/50. Chronicles of Riddick, for example, was superb. If you go back to the days of the C64/Amiga again there were quite a few titles on those formats from games which were good.

of course games deemed good before a film was made of said game will be good, that's not the point though is it

It's just very hit and miss. Any game based on James Bond could be so good. The gadgets, cars, women, etc. it's just that instead of spending time trying to do something new they just go for the bog standard FPS.

did you watch the last 2 films at all? james bond seems to have moved away from all the silliness and become generic.

What do you expect from a game when its made the same people who made the likes of:

Pirates of the Caribbean, Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, Batman Begins, Robots, Spyro: A Hero's Tail, Athens 2004, Bejging 2008, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy, Buffy: Chaos Bleeds, Harry Potter. (to name a few of there many amazing titles)

Thus add the fact they HAD to get it released before/ around the release of the film for pure marketing reasons.
er... the company that did those games only did the PS2 version of QOS(which also got better reviews).

just played the quantum of solace game and the graphics are shocking. i am playing on max and the game looks like it has been out for a couple of years. and this is still retailing at £35. anyone else agree with this?

The game is a HUGE pile of dog crap , i was glad i downloaded it and didn't buy it... :o:o

I heard the matrix was good on Ps2?

Wasn't that great really. Definitely not as good as it could or should have been.

The 24 game for the PS2 was pretty decent. Had some reasonably advanced gameplay features too in terms of cover and weapons. I enjoyed it anyway.

+1 - only exception is kotor - although not based on movie but the SW universe

yeah but nearly all the star wars games are good fun :) (until they mess them up :) )

As for the Bond film, they've gone with this rough and shaky camera work like The Bourne Identity. You never know who the hell is who in the fights because its so close in and moves so fast. Just a real shame.

You could tell from the TV adverts that it looked a complete state.
The fact that it was a film>game cash in did the rest of the job. Decent gameplay? No. dumbed down piece of rubbish? Yes.

I wouldn't say it was a letdown, it met the expectations that I had for it.
