Query about installing W7

Ok ive for W7 home premium on my PC (non oem disc) , windows vista 64 on my laptop. Now ive ordered an upgarde copy of W7 Pro for my PC as it has a few bits i want.

Question is can i reinstall my original W7 Home Premium disc on my laptop? Will it register the key again? I know oem discs can only go on one machine, can i deregister it and install a proper version on another machine?

Yep, Retail can be re-installed on another machine belongs it's un-installed from the original system. You may need to use the automatic phone system to activate.

but i will need to keep the original on the pc for the upgrade to Pro to work? Or would the install of the Pro version tidy up the old version?

Ah yes, the Upgrade version will have it's own key which then in theory overwrite your current key.
