Quest 3 accessories thread

Just had an email telling me about this being released:

15% discount too.

It looks mighty interesting. I don't think I'll be rushing to buy it without seeing some reviews first. But I have their earliest version of the same style. And the better managed cable, recessed adjustment wheel, and added headphones (assuming they're good quality) all seem like very worthwhile QoL improvements.

Looks good, I'd have it without the ear muffs though

As I've got the meta one (without battery) im keeping that instead

Anyone want this ?
It's not got the top strap, just giving it away before I throw it

I am after protection lenses for a Quest 3, I have found some Blue Light Protection ones, but really just want clear
Anybody point me to a company that sells them
Or doesn't it make any difference and you don't notice a change in colours etc
Thanks

I tried some from Amazon and eventually refunded them.
The increased reflection from the glass and the glare spoiled the experience.
Mine were blue light filtered, that didn't seem to matter much, the other problems noted causing the bigger issues.

They are no longer being sold.....

Lens Anti Fog Kit for Meta Quest 3 (1139044)

I have been using a Binbok T3 headstrap on my Quest 3 for almost 2 years now. And it's been great. Having two easily switched batteries is fantastic. But I noticed a good deal for the Kiwi Design H4 Boost Comfort headstrap and battery and decided to buy it. Will be interesting to compare the two. The T3 is more of an elite strap, whereas the H4 is a halo type strap.

Delivery won't be until the 8th of December though :( Have become too used to next day delivery these days and have no patience any more :p

I have seen the BOBOVR S3 Pro Super Strap VR with a 10000mAh battery on sale today, around £80.I might take the plunge one that one later.

I've been considering upgrading my Cooopoo head strap for one with a battery and this one looks pretty cool. Checked with camelcamelcamel and it looks like a genuine sale as well.

Thats meant to be pretty much the best headstrap you can get, but I'm kinda happy with my existing unit, not sure I reeeeeaalllllly need another headset, given the number of FI's I bought back in the day..

The headstrap does not arrive until Friday but I am very happy with their face pad. I really doubted that it would have been much of an improvement over std, but it most certainly has been. Not only the comfort and fit but the light leakage has been reduced, especially around the nose area. The extra ventilation is good, as well as the control wheels either side to extend, or retract the body. Maybe useful for those who wear glasses..? I believe it offers 11mm of travel.
The padded outer edge has three ventilation channels included, you do get a replacement without those if you want. Those seem to work, as in remain open, but no noticed light.

So far, impressed with it.

Well, the BOBOVR S3 Pro headstrap turned up......
You can see it next to the KKCOBVR ......

Overall......

I suppose it depends on head shape and size, as well as personal preference. But, for me, the S3 Pro is the most comfortable and well fitting. My wife, smaller head, finds it similar. It grips well without feeling tight, that could also be due to having their very good face plate / pad fitted as well.
The ventilation, from the face pad vents, and also the fan within the headstrap blowing down over your forehead seems effective without being overly loud. How good that works out will probably be known better when it is warmer.
Build quality is "ok". It was when I held it in comparison to the KKCOBVR that I then thought, "Oh that reasonable then". What I mean is, the plastic on either is not incredibly think, but probably fit for purpose, meaning the headsets weight needs to be factored when you are wearing it. They do seem comparable in weight.
Easy enough typically, to fit. The 10,000 Mah battery should be decent enough, depending how much use is made of the fan.

Overall, very nice and comfortable, and couples well with their facepad.

Glad you are happy with your purchase.

Unfortunately, I am not happy with mine. The Kiwi Design H4 Boost strap is like the Bobo S3 but without any fan or swappable batteries. First impressions haven't been great.

I am comparing the H4, a halo type strap to the BinBok T3, an elite type strap.

The H4 is well built and looks great. It's well balanced, there is a nice feel to it. I was looking forward to trying it on. Once I had it on my head though, that's where it went downhill.

The problem is that it always feels loose on my head. I can tighten everything until it's actually hurting my head, but it still feels loose. When I look down at anything it feels like it's just about to slip off.

Then there is the problem of fitting it on. With the Binbok T3, once you get the top strap dialled in, it's easy to put on and take off. With the Kiwi H4, I have to adjust it every time I put it on so that it sits right.

Not having a swappable battery is a negative too.

Kind of sorry I bought it now. But haven't had much time to test it yet, will try it out more over the next couple of days. At the moment, I am pretty sure I will be returning it.

That's a sad result for you. I did look at the Kiwi, more than once, but I was not happy with its onboard battery setup mainly. Noting what you have written about how it feels I must say that in that respect this S3, compared to the KKCOBVR, which is very good, is the one that seems to need the least tightening for it to feel secure and firm whilst wearing.
Even though the advert I read about the Kiwi mentioned the internal battery, iirc, it did not detail its capacity etc..?
I just wanted one with something removable, like the S3 Pro or the KKCOBVR.

Good luck with yours, at least you have an easy return, if that is what you need to do.
