Quest issue with new router/connection

I'm using a 64GB model of the original Quest that I've borrowed from my brother. It's worked perfectly fine via AirLink with my VodaFone router and connection for several months, but since changing provider to a Gigabit one with a new router I have a crippling issue where within about 5 minutes of connection using AirLink it becomes a complete slideshow.

It doesn't matter whether I'm in game, Steam VR or in the AirLink Home area, the same thing occurs. If I turn my head the visible area is black until what should be within my FOV slowly rotates around and catches up. It's sluggish beyond belief and completely unusable.

If I reconnect my PC and headset to the Vodafone router (the net connection is presently still active) all is fine. If AirLink didn't work at all with the new router then I' have more to go on, but the fact it's fine initially is confusing.

Any suggestions? I've tried reinstalling the software on the PC to no avail, and reconnecting and disconnecting both PC and headset to the router and resetting the latter.

Are you using the routers just for the Q2 or for the whole house. If you still have the vodaphone router I'd consider using it as a dedicated router for the headset.

That is my backup plan, although I'd prefer to get it working on the newer router as I won't be online with the Vodafone one after the 1st of September. Not a huge deal as most of the games I have access to are single player ones on Steam.

I'll be trying Virtual Desktop this evening to see whether that works ok, perhaps narrow down the issue, and use it as an alternative if necessary for online stuff, though AirLink is more convenient as it's quick to launch.

You can have your vodaphone router plugged in to your gibabit one so you'll still have internet access and be able to dedicate the vodaphone one to your Q2.

Thanks for the suggestions all, I'll do some reading on using the older router as an access point if it comes to that.

I've tried with Virtual Desktop and that works without issue while using the newer router so may go down that route to avoid an extra bit of hardware kicking around.

May have to try a factory reset of the headset and clean install of the Oculus software on the PC to try and get AirLink working on this setup, despite the PITA that will be.
