Quest Pro 2

Quest pro 2 is in development

will be going against the Apple Pro
oof harsh comments on the pro...... its not that i disagree with the individual points, so i guess IF you want an AR device he is correct.............. and if you just want to do mobile gaming then yes i was a hell of an over priced quest 2 and the upgrades didnt warrant the price.

BUT OTOH it does somewhat ignore what imo makes the quest pro fantastic and a very good swissarmy knife of VR headsets (far more than a jack of all trades). (i really do not care about AR at the moment tho maybe one day..................)

and besides... its RRP is no longer £1500 and it can be gotten from reputable sources for £800 from time to time and for that, if you want PCVR with the added bonus of excellent standalone imo the Pro is a hell of a package.

Quest Pro is undeniably the best all-round headset right now, and that's despite Meta completely mismarketing it and breaking it repeatedly with botched updates.

The paper specs do not give any idea about how good this headset is when you actually use it.

i have had a migrane and only just shrugged the last of the headache off after 6 days... that and the bonkers 32 degree c heat wave and i had not really touched my quest pro for a while.... but tonight i dug out my racing wheel and fired up assetto corsa - the original one.

and ...... wow it has never looked so good. with the bitrate upped to 500 its clarity was on a par with my G2 or as near as makes no difference, the FOV was a welcome little bump but the colours were just top notch.

yes i admit i did noticed the engine note of the car was lacking compared to the G2 but other than that....... after 10 mins swearing setting up (it was set to wireless without me realising so my bitrate killed it) i had 50 mins racing and now i am dripping. i will be in the dog house if i wake the lad up but i need a shower now!.

excellent stuff!.

I was looking into this. Apparently you'll need the sort that you use to illuminate gardens that run on 12v, and potentially two of them. The small IR illuminators don't provide enough light.

You need ones that you can put on a shelf or wall mount as attaching to the headset isn't good enough as the controllers need lots of light even when the headset can't see them.

Cookie already has garden lights apparently and it does not work for him

I told him you get a proper bulb
