I just have a few questions regarding the topic as i have a motherboard that allows crossfire:

1: Can i run 2 different amd graphics card for example 7770 and 7870 at the same time

2: will i see a performance difference instead of just running the 7870?

and if i am able to do that, is there anything that i need to set up? i read somewhere about bridging it?

If you want to run two cards in crossfire, they need to be of the same family:
7850 +7870 work together, 7950, 7970, and 7990 work together. As a general rule, if the first 2 digits match, you're okay.
There's a chart on AMD's site somewhere showing all the cards that match.

You need to add a crossfire bridge to connect the two cards, and you usually get one with the cards (higher end ones any way).

If you just want to use two cards to drive different monitors (like, say, 2-3 monitors connected to the 7870, and another 2 monitors connected to the 7770), you don't need to do anything special. You can even mix intel, nvidia, and amd to do this. But you'll want to run games on the monitor connected to the most powerful card - set that up as your primary monitor.

^ Exactly. As long as the first two numbers match, 79xx or 78xx or 77xx etc then the cards will work together. The one exception to this is the 7870XT which will work with the 79xx series cards.

another 7870 is the best way or a 7850 if funds are tight, the crossfire bridge should come with the graphics card, if you google a pic you will see how to install
