I know referral sites are disallowed on here, so a thread about 'Lockerz' might be locked, however I'm not asking for people to click on a link or whatever. I just wanted to know, how on earth do companies like Lockerz afford to give out products pretty much for free like this?

I'd guess it is to do with targetted marketing, they'll analyse your browsing habits and then companies will tailor ads to fit with your interests as they perceive them. There may be something to do with the amount of click-throughs that the site can generate also.

I've not looked into that specific site particularly beyond a cursory glance just now but that would seem to be one possible way.

above and probs some advertising etc. (not rly looked on site)

or they just sell all your details onto 3rd parties :D

Going to bump this, question that not even Facebook it seems can answer. When/how do we collect prizes? I see a lot of people fuming that a window passed them all.

Do we get an email? Notification on the site?

I would say that they are a load of nonsense, not the first site offering such "prizes"

Chances of getting something are probably in the hundreds of thousands....

Hmm, I've been clicking on it for a few days now. It's no effort at all and part of my morning email routine but it would be nice to know if it's not just a big waste of time. Anybody else recieved any prizes?

It's easy if you read the FAQ.

1. They are a site which are going to offer services goods for you to buy. They will get commision from these goods/services sold just like quidco do plus maybe some advertising revenue.

2. In order to get good commision/advertising revenue they need as many members as possible

3. Easiest way to get members is to offer prizes to anybody who signs up.

4. The more points you earn, the more entries into winning a prize each month you can enter. A certain number of points are needed for one entry. It might be one prize for every 10,000 entries, who knows?

5. Very strict rules as to who are allowed to buy entries into the prize draws with their points such as you must be logged into your account on certain days. These reduces the total number of people entering the prize draws.

5. Later on after full launch, your points will be able to be swapped for discounts on goods bought.

I fail to see why anybody doesn't understand how this model works?

I hope people don;t think they will automatically get a prize from just being a member and clicking?

No notification. Just check their website for details of the windows and what you have to do that day.

If you are lucky enough to have earnt enough points to "buy" a prize draw entry, entered the draw on the correct date and then lucky enough to win a prize, you will be informed via email.
