So ive been looking at the new v formula and ive noticed (this might sound a bit weird because ive never built a pc before)there is on 1 usb 3.0 port on the motherboard however the case what i want teh shinobi xl has 4 usb 3.0 so will it go on the motherboard with it working correctly what do i have to buy extra

1 usb 3.0 connector supports 2 ports
the mvf supports only 2 ports
if you want 4 ports you'll have to get the mve
or a pci-e expansion (idk if it even exists)

yea the internal headers what should i do is there like a splitter so more usb 3.0's can go onto the usb 3 slot on the mobo

what the one up that has a extra usb 3.0 socket but when i go onto the pages of both of them they both claim to have 2 usb 3.0 and the lower one i cant see the 2nd usb 3.0

USB Ports:
Intel® Z77 chipset :
4 x USB 3.0 port(s) (2 at back panel, blue, 2 at mid-board)

Intel® Z77 chipset :
8 x USB 2.0 port(s) (4 at back panel, black+white, 4 at mid-board)

or something like this similar

or to make it easier is there a product where you can plug 2 usb 3.0 headers to 1 usb 3.0 header like a splitter

mve:
Intel® Z77 chipset :
4 x USB 3.0 port(s) (2 at back panel, blue, 2 at mid-board)
Intel® Z77 chipset :
8 x USB 2.0 port(s) (4 at back panel, black+white, 4 at mid-board)
ASMedia® USB 3.0 controller :
4 x USB 3.0 port(s) (2 at back panel, blue, 2 at mid-board)

mvf:
Intel® Z77 chipset :
4 x USB 3.0 port(s) (2 at back panel, blue, 2 at mid-board)

Intel® Z77 chipset :
8 x USB 2.0 port(s) (4 at back panel, black+white, 4 at mid-board)

ASMedia® USB 3.0 controller :
2 x USB 3.0 port(s) (2 at back panel, blue)

what is the as media about i though it was just usb 3.0 , and i cant see any other port on the motherboard photo which looks the same as the rectangular red one on the right of the board

i dont want to move from the formula to the extreme because the formula has a thunderfx aswell where as the extreme hasnt

what is the as media about i though it was just usb 3.0 , and i cant see any other port on the motherboard photo which looks the same as the rectangular red one on the right of the board

the asmedia controller just provides 2 ports at the back on the mvf, total 2 ports internal (1 internal header only, from intel)
the asmedia controller on the mve provides 2 ports at the back and 1 internal header for a total of 4 ports internal (1 header from intel, 1 header from asmedia)

god damn it do you think the mve will have a thunder fx bundle? but yea thanks for clearing that up that is the last thing i looking at now and youve sorted it thanks a bunch:)

naa the lower one has better sound for some reason probably because the higher end board are for people who buy seperate sound cards
