Question about consumer rights

it was a laptop approx £550, I dont mind doing the legwork of sorting it out or sending it away, what I have an issue with is that manu's can hide behind their 12 month warranty and design crappy goods that last just outside 12 months. If its not wear and tear related and is a manu'f fault they should be held responsible as I have no control over product QC

The manufacturers crappy goods and 12 month warranty are unfortunately your problem and not the consumers problem. You sold the goods. The consumer has more rights against you than you do against the supplier as B2B sales are not covered by the SOGA IIRC.

Welcome to Business. No risk, no reward. Did you think it was going to be an easy ride?

No, this is first issue I've had in the 3 years I've been up and running, if I can prove its a hardware manu fault (there are a lot of posts about the same problem with these models) and not wear and tear do I have any come back on the Manu's or my suppliers? i.e. they sold it to me.

I do remember an issue with the laptop not long after he bought it but cant remember the exact issue but I do remember offering to send it back for a replacement as the issue was intermittent, he said he needed it and would see how it went. could this help?

You can if you wish take legal action against the manufacturer to recover the costs involved with meeting the consumers claim under the SOGA.

This will cost you money, though.
