When looking at the core temps on my CPU at idle ive always noticed that core #0 can be quite a few degrees higher then the other cores, sometimes core #0 can idle at 36 C where as core #2 can be at 27 C. Is their a reason for this ?

As a rough example thats a 7 degrees difference between core #0 and core #2.

This is normal, cores 1 and 3 always run hotter on my 2500k. All down to the quality of the CPU die's.

If its a big difference and just the one core may be uneven distribution of thermal paste on the CPU, may not hurt to re-apply it.

Is the core0 temp much different to the other cores under load?
