Guys after a bit of help,

The Mrs is going back to college and she is half way through the form and it is asking about qualifications, and the only exams she passed were GCSEs and these were in 94 - 95. Is there any point putting these on as it was 15 years ago? Will the college check to see if certain have been achieved? How long are they kept on record?

Cheers for the help

does it ask for GCSE results? if so, write them down.
does it ask for secondary school qualifications? if so, write them down.

They are kept forever, she also might have to prove she has them by producing the original certificates. I had to dig mine out recently due to applying for new jobs, and originally couldnt find them. I remembered that one of the exam boards were edexcel, and so rang them to see what I should do, they have a form on their website which you download and fill in as many details as you can remember, then you send it off with a cheque for £30 and they send you copies of your certificates. They are kept indefinitely (I did mine back in 1996) because the woman I spoke to said she could see my results on the screen (when I gave her my name, DOB, address I lived at back then, and secondary school) but due to data protection and all that I had to fill in the form.

Luckily I found my certificates in the end, but if she needs to prove her grades and cant, then they could charge up to £30 per exam board, and you can guarantee that it wont be the same exam board for all the GCSE's.

I used my shortened name of 'Jon' at college and that's on my certificate. My whole name is Jonathan. So I have my rubbish GCSEs that show my name as Jonathan, and I have my college courses that show it as Jon.
