Hi there, just bought a 56 Mondeo with rear parking sensors and they're not working quite as expected - just wondered if someone could advise me as they're totally new to me.

When reversing I start to hear the intermittent tone at about 90cm and then it gets faster until about 30cm when it becomes a solid tone.

I assumed the solid tone is supposed to sound when I'm more like 0.5cm away from an object? Am I right? Can they just be adjusted easily?

Any help much appreciated

My Mondeo is the same for both front and rear. The solid tone sounds at approx 30cm/1ft. Plenty of room :)

And when you've parked 0.5cm from the car and the next mondeo comes along and parks 0.5cm from you and you then return to your car and wish to leave, what do you do?

I'm with you op - graduated indication down to ~15cm would be much more useful. Unfortunately these things have to be designed to the lowest common denominator (with the clumpiest feet/rubbish flappy paddle box :P)
