Question about price/capacity trends

For those of you who've been keeping up with the progress of SSDs, how fast is the price to capacity ratio coming down? I intend to get one at some point to speed up booting and application loading, but is it worth waiting 6 months/a year for things to drop thoroughly below £1 per gigabyte and getting a larger one? The load times don't bother me as such, I just have a mild case of upgrade addiction and an SSD is the logical next step to speed the system up. I'm just wondering when I should take it!

i'm waiting for a new generation of SSD's, then i'll pick up a used one :D

But i'd see how the market goes in the run up to Xmas :)

I would do this myself - until someone pointed out that buying a used 2'nd hand SSD isn't like buying a 2'nd hand car.

It's likely the previous "owner" never understood how to keep it in top condition, possibly never leaving 10% free for Trim - never repeating the writes to the same locations and possibly assuming it had the same characterisitics as a mechanical.

If you think about it - most 2nd hand SSD's will be for sale for a reason (and it's not because the user needs more space or speed - as a decent old SSD can still be used as a small secondary drive or external drive)
