Question about PSU's

My PSU is still serving me well. I bought it in late 2008 and have used it every day since then for many hours, but it is still solid as a rock.

However, as it's now 5 years old, I was wondering, should you replace a PSU after a certain number of years? I know you can wait until it goes bang, but is it a safer idea to change it before this happens for the sake of the rest of your components and indeed, personal safety as well I'd imagine.

Do you change after a certain number of years, even if you need no extra power?

I see no reason to change if it is working fine. Personally I would have more faith in a good worn in known reliable PSU over a new one tbh.
