Question about servicing

I've got a 2016 Ford Ranger that needs it's second service, dealers are quoting me around £500 for what looks like an oil change and a few standard bits, (filters, etc)

The question I have is - other places (like kwik fit) are charging half the price, and apparently if I get it serviced there - the warranty is still perfectly valid? Apparently due to some legislation that prevents dealers from taking vehicles to dealerships to keep the warranty valid.

Is this right? or should I just take it to the dealership and pay full whack?

As long as the servicing is carried out to the required standard using OEM specification parts it should remain valid.
Worth noting that Ford may ask for documentary proof in the instance of a warranty claim!

That's good to know, thanks

When you say documentary proof - proof that they used the proper parts (like the OEM filters, correct oil, etc) and not some cheap crap off the shelf? I assume that's what you mean?

But DON'T use Kwik Fit under any circumstances. I wouldn't trust them to top up the washer bottle. Ask around for a good Ford Specialist guy that will do the job correctly.

Yeah I was wondering about that - I know of a good local garage who've done work for me before and it's always been very good, I spoke to them and they do the exact same service - with the official OEM parts, so gonna go through those guys as I do trust them.

FYI I randomly looked at the schedule on ETIS, and it appears aswell as Oil/Air/pollen filters they do a full brake fluid change every 2 years on the Ranger. (same for both 2.2 and 3.2), and 'Torque the rear suspension' rest is just checks, but the fluid may be needed for the warranty?

Yeah they do,

The garage I booked it in with (who I know quite well) order the complete set of parts from ford, they include the brake fluid change,
