Question about SSD setup?

Okay so i have the Asus p5q pro turbo with a single ssd; i was wondering what perforamnce there would be if i bought this card and raided two of them? Would i get doubel the IOSP; afaik that is what counts like doing normal windows work since throughout or max read/write doesn;t get used much?

I figure that since this card uses marvel it doesnt matter since im rading anyway thus loosing trim anyway. And i heard that if you leave the PC at the login screen it will do trim or gargabe collection is that right?

Would this card be AHCI compatible? thanks
 
Hi could you be more specif as to why its not worth it; is it because my mobo cannot use the extra performance since its old? OR because using a PCI card or a marvel controller would reduce most of the performance gains?

If so how else could i improve performance with my mobo? Thanks
 
or what about forgetting raid and getting a vetex 4; would i get max or at least good performance from a PCI sata 6gb card without the issues of marvel controller since vertex4 controllers are no longer sand force?
