Question about tanking

Sometimes when I'm tanking, the "trigger" of the nozzle slaps back and cuts supply - any idea why it does that? I find it very annoying and prefer to just stay on the trigger and let it fill up....why do I have to operate it so often? It is only intermittent which makes it even stranger

thought you were talking about being a warrior in world of warcraft

I was going to recommend sunder armour and mastering your taunts

no idea about your actually problem though!!

Do you always fill up at the same place? The sensitivity of the overflow mechanism can be a bit aggressive at some places, and can be triggered by just a little drops splashing back at it. Try not pulling the trigger fully, it'll fill slower but shouldn't break as much.

Mine is always like that. Dont know why.

I thought it was because the fuel is going in so fast, its coming back on the sensor and cutting it off.

Its a pain.

Try holding it on its side when you fill up.

Its how i used to stop it happening :)

Yeah its just some pumps set up a bit too sensitive and thinking your tank is full. Filling up slower, putting the nozzel at an angle and pulling the nozzel out slightly can all help reduce it though.

Also depends on the fuel pipe in the car, some have crap angles, so they cut off easily, others are fine. My dad's 216 GSi has a crap fuel pipe you have wiggle the nozel in to get it to flll up, otherwise it cuts out after about 10p of fuel.

Depends if youre a druid or not :P

And yes, what everyone else said! Do it slower or at a different angle or pull out a bit :) all helps

Sometimes my nozzle cuts off halfway through filling the missus tank, so I pull it out a bit and carry on, careful not to pull it out too much cause i've actually splashed petrol everywhere before where I was hung over and not really paying attention.
Never had it with my cars, just her 206, i've filled it up probably 15 times total because I hate driving it but the pulling out trick works quite well.

When I fill up my car, I have to put the nozzel in the petrol filler, and then turn my hand so the nozzle is facing another 30/40 degrees right, otherwise I get fuel cutoff every 2 or 3 litres.

I have this problem all the time when filling the other halfs punto, bloody annoying. Although not as annoying as when I went to a BP station down the road from me and only found out the tank was full when it started pouring out all over the floor, and my brand new trainers
