Hi,

I currently have the 200mbps Nano models running on my connection and I am now looking to extend as need a wired more stable connection in another room of my house.

I am looking to go pick up the 500mbps Nano model today (seems the 200mbps models are only available online now)

Website suggests 200 & 500 work together which is good, but should I look to replace the 200mbps mode which is the master connected to my router with the 500mbps? Or doesn't it make a difference either way?

So to clarify: At present I have 200mbps connected to my router and a 200mbps adapter in my gaming room, I am looking for a 500mbps addition to this setup for the lounge to connect to my smart TV.

That'll work fine. You obviously won't see higher speeds because it'll be limited by the 200Mbps adapters but there shouldn't be any issues.

Your entire powerline network will run at the speed of the lowest unit, so even though you'll have an AV500 unit in there, it'll still run at 200 speeds.
