As results are near I have started worrying about it and look back at my offers one thing that came up that needs answering so I thought I ask people here.

I got an offer from Kent Uni for Architecture and they are asking for 280 points with BC minimum for the A-Levels where Art has to be either B or C.They say I can use the maximum of 3.5 A-Levels. Last year I took Chinese A-Level and got a B so that gives me 100points already. My other 3 A-Levels are Computing,Art and Psychology.Say for an instance I got an U overall for Computing would I be able to use just the AS(haven't cashed it in) as I got a D for it to make up the points? My sister said you can't as its too late to cash it in.

Please help me answer this question!

Thanks

My understanding of it was that you could use the AS grade if it was worth more than your A level, your best bet would be to ring or email UCAS or try and get in contact with someone at your sixth form/college

Surely though say a D in AS level became a U at A level, you couldn't just use a D when applying as its only half a D in reality, you haven't gotten a full A leve lD worth 40pts, you've gotten half of that making it 20pts, and its really the easier side of the A level, so its worth even less? If you get what me mean lol

Yeah I get what you mean but I believe that a D in A-Level is worth 60 points so half is 30points. If my other results are at CC in Art and Psychology add my B in Chinese I am on 260points so the 30points from the D in AS will help me get the 280points I need. So if I can't use the AS Level result if I get a U in Computing A Level I'm screwed and need to go clearing.

Whatever you do, dont panic until you have your results, I needed 300pts for my uni course, I got 280pts and was still accepted, just phone the uni to check if you are unsure :)

Yeah I guess thats true,Kent is my insurance choice anyways.I'll contact the Uni if it comes to that.Thursday is what I like to call the D-Day.Pretty nerve wracking!
