Hello there guys, I'm on a fairly stretched budget, let's say £750.. I'm planning on getting an I5 4670k I think it is?? Will the onboard graphics from this be enough to play World Of Warcraft?

Please help a brother in need!

Should have mentioned, I already have a Thermaltake Chaser MK1 case, a keyboard and mouse but no OS, I don't mind using the Windows 8 trial for a bit though but that looks pretty nice :)

As it's for WoW, this is another option:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £185.99
1 x BenQ GL2460 24" Widescreen LED Slim Bezel Monitor - Black £113.99
1 x Microsoft Windows 8 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00403) £79.99
1 x Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive (SH103S3/120G) £69.95
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £51.95
1 x Patriot Intel Extreme Masters 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (PVI38G160C9K) £49.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 500W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020047-UK) £49.99
1 x Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £45.95
1 x OcUK 20x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £14.99
Total : £676.28 (includes shipping : £11.25).

Then find a used 5850/6870/460/560/560ti or equivalent for around £50-60.

Should have decent FPS and load faster due to the SSD, slightly larger monitor too.

This is probably what I'd do personally, you could probably add the Cooler and still be in budget.

The cooler would be good, as you'd want the CPU overclocked to make sure performance stays ok since the game performs so poorly at times.

Sweet! That helps :) You know about the trial which you can use for 3 months which also helps a lot....double awesome.

Like I said it's not a bad budget at all. Haswell has a little more ooommpf and new power saving features and the memory controller is happy with fast RAM. It's IGP is better but I don't consider it a true alternative to a gaming GPU. Anyone on a Sandy or Ivy i5K isn't that bothered about upgrading to the new socket.

Now if I use some savvy and employ some money saving tips you can do very well on the budget. The B-grade bin is always worth a look but stock is limited obviously, you can get the D3 mobo for £35. However if it's missing sata cables, should you have to buy some that defeats the saving. OEM CPUs can be cheaper but have a shorter warranty (CPU failure is very rare), they have no stock heatsink but that's not an issue if you are buying one to OC anyway. I'd get a modular PSU for the sake of an extra couple of quid.

Not bad for a shade under £750 hey? Just needs the windows 8 trial installed. OC the 7870LE and it does a good impersonation of a 7950 (£240 GPU) and you have a heatsink to OC the i5K some :)

Hopefully that gives you some ideas of what you can do. I look forward to seeing what you settle on in the end :D

Also looks good, though personally I'd get windows now rather than need to save up and buy it within the next 3 months, effectively makes the budget £830.

I agree with the OEM processor despite only 1 year warranty, though each time I've spec'd it people complain about it :D It does save £6 anyway, though it could be handy to have the stock cooler as a back-up I guess.

I'd also try and go for a 24" @1080p if possible, as text and UI can seem small enough on a 24" even.

Sorry, I forgot to mention also that I do intend on buying a GTX 760 eventually, but for now (a MONTH) I was wondering whether it would work perfectly fine on the onboard graphics! If not, I'll have to kind of shift around other parts of the PC to fit a cheap AMD GPU or something.

Why would you want a 760 when the hono's spec has a 7870LE with it (within budget)..

That card is better/comparible than the 760 and costs less...

Yes I agree with you, but when you come from a Heroic Raiding background and still find it enjoyable! Living without a PC at the moment is torturous lol. It'd be nice to get back into it, shame Heretic on Al'akir folded at the start of the year though!! I do intend to produce music on it, but that's hardly demanding for a system tbh.. An I5 would be fine with that, WoW is probably the most demanding thing I'll be doing between now and next year

A budget of £750 to play wow! That would absolutely murder it, i wouldn't bother with wow it's really gone downhill.

No. WoW is extremely taxing. Especially on the CPU.
I run an i5 2500k at 4.6GHz with a GTX670 and 25 man raids will bring my system to it's knees in heavy fights.
