Hey all, i've been thinking of finishing off my eclipse asap as i've recently upgraded and have it sitting here at a silly angle with the side off while i work out what to do :)

I only have 2 x hdd and 1 x dvd-rw in there, for now, and was trying to think of the best way to do things, i'm planning on a 120mm Noctua 1200rpm fan for the front (The older one i have in there isn't pushing nearly enough air) and i was wondering if mounting the hdd's in the floppy bay would be ok? I know they won't have a fan blowing over them but i was thinking either that, the http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-061-CM&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=29 coolermaster 4in3 perhaps? Or am open to any other suggestions as what might be best, i would just like to get that bottom HDD cage out to let the Noctua at the front push a bit lot of uninterrupted air straight through, over the 8800 and eventually up & out :)

Also i wasn't sure how good the Akasa 120mm side panel was? With summer approaching i thought i'd get my cooling updated & sorted now so i'm not sitting next to a living toaster for the next few months!

If anyone has any opinions on what would be a good call to do, i would really appreciate it, thanks! :)

Also, i will be throwing a Noctua NH-U12F on the 6300 for cool & quiet :)

Thanks again all :)

I would Get a kama bay it's like what you posted except its just a 120mm fan
that takes up the 5'25 3 slots bay that way you will have cool air blowing accross the cpu heatsink north bridge area and put the hdd down the bottom.
I intend on doing this for summer and removing the kama for winter again.
If using the one you posted it would be blowing the warm hdd air over the board
and cpu heatsink.I currently have 1 hdd in the top of the hdd bay and one in the floppy bay with an akasa hdd cooler on it seems to work well.Leaves a lot of room for airflow for the front amber intake.

I take it you mean you use http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SY-002-AK&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=399 under your HDD in the HDD bay, that idea works for me, i heard the Kama Bay didn't have the most efficient fan in the world on it, would it be worth looking into a replacement to throw on it? maybe the 800rpm noctua?

Was thinking while i'm at it, i might throw http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-003-NC&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=399 on the northbridge instead of the giant heatsink that come from Asus, not sure how the Asus one and my Noctua CPU cooler will get on!

Thanks again mate.

Yea both good idea's i'd swap the fan too on that karma
and that noctua northbridge heatsink is in my plans also.
Hey we may not get any cool air this summer lol.Methinks a big underclock
will be happening on a lot of air rigs. The coolermaster one may be the better option if the default fans better and pushes more cfm,but just dont put the hdd's in just let it act as an intake accross the board and out the back exhaust.Yes that is the hdd cooler i have but in gold.Tell a lie it's identical to that but made by evercool not akasa.
i only use the hdd cooler on my master hdd and it's in the floppy bay not the
hdd bay the slave sits in the hdd bay at the very top of it.I've tried having the hdd in the 5'25 bays and removing the hdd bay and it made little difference
if any to the overall cooling but i think an intake alone in the 5'25 bay would make a big difference it would be blowing fresh air directly onto the ram cpu heatsink and bridge..Heres a pic of mine after i had the hdd's in the 5'25 and removed the hdd bay.

Ahh ok then mate :)

Think i'll be looking around to see if the NB heatsink needs replacing to fit the Noctua on, if so, that babbeh noctua will do nicely i'm sure, should be more than adequate, globule of AS5 and away we go, yeah? :D

Only reason i wouldn't think of changing the kama bay fan (undecided on what i'd do) is as it is 12.5db and inaudible, its handy as it will literally be in your face won't it!

In summer i'd put up with any noise for a cooler system i guess depends
on your personal tolerance levels.Maybe i'll stick a delta in the karma bay on rubber mounts lol.
