Hi,

So when you're cycling left of the road and you're aiming to turn right on the next traffic light, do you gradually emerge right as you go or wait till you stop at the traffic light and then cut right? I'm assuming you emerge as you go as sometimes the lights could be already green. Just a debate I have with a mate.

signal and move across into the centre of the lane before reaching traffic light. After traffic light goes green, move over to the right hand side of the lane (middle of the road-ish) ready to turn right.

* waits for thread to descend into cyclists vs drivers carnage.

Signal to indicate intent when on the approach to the junction with plenty of time for all parties to react and when appropriate move across the road to the right hand side of the lane or if available the right hand turn lane. I find that after signalling 95% of drivers allow me the space to move across the road (sometimes even ones in Audis :p). I never move at last minute

As above. But gradually merging rather than changing suddenly at the last minute is far safer and more expectant.

Also it's cyclists not cyclers :p. You from the west country arr?

Everyone saying signal or manoeuvre before checking there blind spot will Die. :p

Weave in between traffic with your GoPro. When the light turns red proceed through and almost cause an accident

What do people do when cars passing prohibit movement to the centre of a lane in time?

stop and wait till it's clear? or man up beforehand and stamp your authority on the lane rather than wait till the last minute.

on most roads you can go just as fast as the cars or close enough that merging is simple

95% of the time it's signal and merge.

On fast busy roads it's sometimes safer to wait at the end, it's quite rare but there is one near me where traffic absolutely bombs it towards the roundabout and no amount of signalling makes it safe.

It all depends which bike I'm on.
If I'm on my road bike I do it like the 2nd post but if I'm on my Mountain Bike I do it like the 9th post.

signal and then move to the right (slowly moving across the lane) well before the junction. Although this doesn't appear to stop drivers trying to drive alongside me (to my right), generally because they thought to overtake but did not consider the fact I am going the same speed as the cars in front and have no where to go once alongside and lock me in...

Check behind to make sure there's nobody there who wants to overtake, stick out right hand to signal intention, then move to the centre or the right of the lane.

Then of course, blast straight through the junction regardless of what colour the traffic light is. :p

Look over my shoulder a reasonable distance before the traffic lights, hand signal for right if way is clear, check over my shoulder again, cycle to the right hand side of the road but do not cross the central line marking.

Of course, you wouldn't have this problem cycling on the motorways because there are no traffic lights :)

What are cyclers?
English people know them as Cyclists :)

I weave all over the road, yell abuse at anyone on a mobile (even pedestrians), cut everyone up and become the world's biggest **** over other people's minor driving errors.

Then I upload all my helmet cam footage to Youtube and narrate the video in a smug condescending voice.
