Question for those that fly Business class

No that's normal and fair enough. It's everything that leads up to and after that, from checking in, boarding, drinks/food etc.
 
Asian airlines in general are pretty hot for service, I prefer Asiana to Korean Air when flying to Korea (not all Korean air flights have real flatbeds).
Singapore are great I use them when i'm flying to Indonesia just don't use Garuda for the final hop as they are sucky as hell and were banned form flying into europe until recently for safety failures.
I don't like Malaysian airlines but that's more due to them screwing me over once and downgrading me than their recent issues.

Cathy over BA anytime if i'm going via Hong Kong. While I used to have a gold card with BA and still have over 200k air miles their service pretty much sucks, I do however use them if I have to cause with my miles I can upgrade a cheap ticket on a flight im paying for not work.

Emirates can be variable but the A380 is very nice.
 
Some premium economy seats in airlines are quite good. I flew premium economy with BA and had acres of space. Just check out plane seat plans on seat guru.
 
Ugh BA are horrendous. I fly BA over Ryanair but anything long haul I avoid like the plague. We used them for the Maldives earlier this year but it was a cheap direct flight.

Flying Malaysian airlines this Christmas down to Oz. I don't have any issues with them I think that the planes and staff and service are great. Management team and finances aside of course.... Their A380 is great. Flew them to KL last time and it was a great flight.
 
I don't get the hate for BA. Their service isn't the best but Terminal 5 is great, they'e had lay-flat beds on every transcontinental route that I've flown and have plenty of champagne in stock. :p Admittedly all the flights I do with them are on air miles though, so it always feels like a good deal.

I'd choose them over most European and American airlines.
 
I recently done BA business long haul and have no complaints, good service, good food and good drink. I would usually choose BA above most other European airlines also.

That said, I've always heard good things about Air New Zealand, Emirates and Finnair believe it or not.

BA are fine. Flew BA on two legs of a return to OZ in April and the planes were good, service was fine and price was the cheapest (which is why we went with them). Bonus points for getting Avios to add to my account.

Cathay on the other hand... Flew HK to Perth on the above trip and the plane was fine, much like BA, but the service was terrible. It was a 7 hour flight yet somehow they couldn't get the meals out in that time! They ended up clearing up as we were descending, many people having only just got their food/drink.

Flew Qatar at Christmas long haul Philippines via Doha and they were no different to BA either. TBH the biggest issue is age of the plane. Most airlines have old and new planes, it's just luck of the drawer unfortunately.

I did fly on the A380 to HK which was better than the other BA aircraft I've been on but not by much. I regularly fly BA as they are generally the cheapest and have never had bad service, although I admit many of their short haul planes are looking a bit long in the tooth inside.

Problem with Finnair is you always have to go via Finland, adding an extra stop on the trip.
 
We all have different experiences. Mine are no more valid. Having taken hundreds of flights in my life I get a bit picky in my old age :p
 
I am surprised that AirNZ have not had a mention, their business class is rather good in terms of space. Flat bed with as large a pitch as BA First (nearly). Very reasonable pricing too, its only a portion of the route but they come in at around £2k from LHR to LAX, try finding a business price like that with someone like BA CW. :)

this was after a 3 hour internal flight from brisbane to melbourne. i remember looking at the distance and thinking ****ing hell that's the distance to dubai dubai to bhx was another 7 hours +

ask for a pillow
