I am thinking of getting Vista Prem 64 on Monday or is it safer going for the 32bit version ?

A few things putting me off

How are user finding , ie installing software

These things worry me about getting Vista

1 Asus Motherboard Drivers
2 Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS Drivers
3 G7 & MX Revolution mouse drivers
3 AOL Broadband

Can anyone put my mind at rest , i don`t want to spend the money on a new OS and be getting mega problems

Bottom 2 shouldn't be an issue, can't comment on the other 2 i'm afraid?

p.s. Your sig is more than 4 line's .......that may cause you an issue ;)

There are lots of threads about whether to go for the 32-bit or 64-bit version, one of them created just a couple of days ago by yourself :

If you're still so concerned after all the replies you had in that thread then stick to 32-bit, you'll have less problems in the short term.

At the end of the day, it's a new OS - yes you may have 1 or 2 compatibility problems for a short time but the hardware/software manufacturers will soon catch up.

Seeing as you have 2GB of RAM I'd go for 32 bit.

64 bit only makes sense if you have over 2GB.
2GB will be plenty for a 64bit system. If you can afford it get retail then you will have both. :)

Is iT best to look on Asus web-site or ask overclockers tech

Chances are that vista will pick up all the relevant drivers for your board. It did for mine (DFI). If you have a problem after you install it, go on the relevent manufacturers website and see what drivers they have available. To be honest i think you're stressing a bit too much about it !

Best to make sure your hardware drivers will be available for x64 ,if your getting new graphics card, sound, motherboard and your dvd-rw etc is say a couple of years old you should be fine ,i think when Vista is released proper ,things will settle down, and drivers will start apearing on websites ,i,ve emailed a lot of companies regarding Vista drivers and they all say they will be out when the retail versions are released ,one modem company told me they werre working on bugs ,and holding them back until the release day. ;)
