Question of RAID 0 performance after partitioning

I have a quick question that relates to the partitioning on a RAID 0.

Will performance take a hit?

After reading many comments on these forums, I'm looking at creating a RAID 0 with two Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB.

I've never really used RAID in the past, and it is my under standing that once setup, data is shared between both drives (as they are acting as one); and this increases the speed.

If I partition them, will this still be the case?

Yes, the striping of the data between the disks is done at a hardware level, to the OS the array appears as a single physical device so any partitions on it will also be spread across the disks.
