after having these games on my shelf there isn't really much missing from the rts genre that i need

Make sure you have Medieval 2: Total war if you want the complete set of RTS titles....

good call that man. i have medieval and SupCom and i may end up getting C&C. However, i dont buy into EA franchises these days unless its a really good game. with medieval and SupCom being so good i dont hold out much hope for C&C for me, if its the same as previous then its just not enough for me anymore.

Just had a quick skirmish on the c&c demo, which I liked - a LOT. It is a very different game to supcom though - which I love so far! :D

Just got SC in the post today (UEF faction pack), didn't really get into the demo but I never had time to give it a proper go. I just know it is going to be a game I'll be playing in well over a year.

Not had a chance to play the CnC demo yet, the demo is just to big to download (I only get 50gig a month, and am always near that), but I really want to play it.

I need to get fired or something to fit them all in! :D

SC > SupCom > C&C:TW

C&C is far too simple, great if you don't like strategy in your strategy games I suppose.

Both seem like great games, but to me, SupCom has it. C&C3 plays just like all the others, which isn't so bad, but it just doesn't do anything 'new'. It is highly polished, fun, has good fmv, and is great. BUT, I can't shake the fact, that it really could be any of the other C&Cs with updated graphics.

However, C&C3 runs great on a average PC, SupCom demands more CPU than anything else. SupCom runs better on my work PC, which has a vastly inferior graphics card (X800 vs nVidia TurboCache thing) but my work PC has the same CPU as my home one, just the X2 version, and thats the key.

I'm confident that the mods and extra for SupCom will push it ahead, if TA is anything to go by.

I personally prefer SupCom, but having said that C&C3 is not yet fully released, so I will give it fair chance.

I have noticed CoH hasn't had much of a mention but I feel that is the third RTS game to get (if you don't count DoW (which you probably should)).

  • C&C3 is more of a quick fun game that requires little practice to be able to play effectively.
  • SupCom is master strategy on a HUGE scale
  • CoH is unit based and more more tactical

I personally will probably get C&C3 as well as the other two I already own.

I feel this thread is designed to cause fanboy conflict and it is obvious any poll would be won by C&C3 because they were already saying how it was going to be better when all that had been shown was ONE small set of cut scenes in the teaser trailer.

Most people can afford all three (certainly if you can afford a rig to run them effectively), so loose the attitudes!

C & C 3 for me, initially i thought poor, but it grew on me and ive had tons of fun on the demo,

MTW2, CoH and C&C3 are all the RTS games you will ever need, that is until they remake Dune ... wormsign  !!!!!

The happiest gaming hours of my life were when I first played through Dune II. To say I was enthralled is an understatement, it completely blew my mind at the time. No other RTS has ever made me feel like that, and I doubt ever will again. :)

Dune 2000 sucked though. :(
