Question on MYBOOK

I don't appear to have it listed in My Computer, and I can only use the supplied software for straight backups. Is it possible to have it function as a standard (external) hard drive...i.e drag+drop files in explorer, etc.?

That's the intended use, it should show up in My Computer.

Check in Computer Management (in Admin Tools) under Disk Management to see if it's there, if so, right-click and format it to FAT or NTFS (if you don't plan on using it with non-windows machines).
