Hi guys ordered my system today and have 2x 150gb raptors on the way and 1 x 500gb caviar.

I want to setup the raptors so that 1 hard drive is for operating system and programs etc. and the second raptor for games and then set them to raid 0.

I then want to just keep the 500gb as storage and backing up files etc.

Whats the best way to go about this? when i enable raid in the motherboard will it know what hard drives to set the raid to or will i be prompted? or do i control it all via vista install etc?

Thanks guys

That's not how RAID works. With RAID 0 you'll combine them together so that the OS sees one 300 GB partition. The RAID controller takes care of metering data between the two.

Consult your motherboard's manual to see how to set up the array in your particular case.

If you are using the Intel ICHxR controller, if you do a search of this forum, you will find a few guides on how to do this.....:)
