I have just signed up with Quidco and understand the idea behind it.

How does quidco know that I have been on a site though?

Say I buy a CD off one of their cashback sites, how would quidco know this and then give me cashback

Thanks;)

Because you go to the site you buy from, via quidco, a referral cookie is then tracked until the purchase is complete.

Quidco site leaves a cookie in the browser so when u go to a site via that page it knows what you purchase.

This is then confirmed by the seller who then allows quidco to pay you the cash.

I have a Quidco account, don't really use it though. I don't order enough stuff online, and I don't plan to let Quidco convince me I need to buy more...

Is there anything stopping me having an account with both websites and then just using whichever one is giving better cashback on what I am to buy on the day?

No, however Quidco charges the £5 annual fee, so it's up to you really.

I personally use TopCashBack. Do some free links every day on lunch then go through them to do my Christmas shopping.
