Question on The Trusty Gatso Camera

so why do they have lines on both sides of roads?

So they can still catch you if you overtake or go on the other side of the road going away from the gatso.

They also have them on dual carrigeways (sp?) so that they can periodically turn the samera to face the other way

(There is one on the A40 out of town near Park Royal in the central reservation that is set up like this)

the other camera shown above is a Truvelo, its forward facing and uses an invisible IR flash so you cant see it being flashed.

If by invisible IR you mean bright purple flash then you are right

As said, they usually put them on a central reservation with lines either side so that they can swivel them round, though all the ones near me have never changed direction as long as I can remember.
