Just got the graphics card. Its pretty dusty so will clean it all up. Will wait until the paste and the Hyper 212 gets here. I will then give my PC a good teardown. Its a 2GB Card but considering I was reasonably happy with my 1.25GB Card it can only be better.
Check the MM soon if anyone is after my 560ti. Its got a good chunk of its 5 year warranty left also
Well cleaned the card up. Was fairly easy to take a apart. The heatsink was difficult to put back with new paste while trying to make it straight, line up with the holes and not make a mess of the Mx-4 I just put under it. We will see from temperatures. (Whats the average temp of this card?) First time doing that though.
Next conundrum. I have my motherboard tray to put in and the Hyper 212. Although I cannot find a Allen Key anywhere. I have a friend coming over later to help me out.
Sorry on the quality. It seems my very expensive LED Lighting in my room is not ample enough. 13MP Sony Shooter should do better than that though.
It also seems like I have my Ram in Single Channel mode. How awkward. haha.
Would have been best to record temps before and after as temperature results will vary from from the case it is in, so looking at temperatures at review sites wont be comparable to your situation.
I haven't even had it in my system yet... I'm sure the Mx4 will make a difference, hopefully. Not a speck of dust in there either. Should be like new.
I have one measly fractal fan in there sucking in air to attempt to make it better. My 560 was hitting 90c at times ;O its probably pretty dusty though. Never cleaned it really. Not properly.
Also pretty tiny card. It cant be good surely? My 560's PCB is bigger than that...
The small PCB is normal for a reference card, there was a story that it was going to be called the 660 but when Nvidia saw how well it did against AMD they renamed it to a higher tier of card and increased the price.
It should do me. I'm hoping all this miraculously stops my PC from lagging for a second every now and then while gaming. If not a call to VM is in order...
Just read a review. The 670 matched up against even the 7970. Quite impressive really.
Well built it all. Its running great at 4.4ghz. Prime95 maxes out at 70.c. 670 is at 35 idle. Havent checked load. Only problem is the CPU cooler does clear the side of my case... No biggy guess I'll be buying a h100i for lan then. But that's ages away. Pics will come tomorrow.
Been thinking about getting a watercooling solution but struggling to work out what route I'd like to go. I like the idea of a Triton AIO because I can have cool purple coolant. But working out whether it was worth doing a second hand pump res and block with the expand ability of the graphics coolers.
