This EDF bill is seriously confusing

amount of last bill -£83
payments -£64
charges this period £31
total for period -£116

the electric is similar

does the - mean I`m owed the £116?

Yes. Your last bill was -83, then you paid them another £64. Which meant they were £147 up. This period, you used £31 worth of gas, bringing your balance down to £116.

They have an extra £116 of your cash basically. The positive balance will be saved for future bills.

Yeah I ended up about £500 in credit after moving to a direct debit billing. They will much about with your repayments so that the credit disappears, at one point I was paying £15 a month for all my leccy (don't have Gas)
