Hey guys

Just got a question.

I have formatted a drive, and then used ActivDisk Kill Disk to write 0's to the drive.

The drive was split into actual space for O/S and recovery partititon - from a laptop.

If the recovery partition was 'activated' and a recovery was performed, would it bring back any of the data that was on the hard drive? or would it be fresh install of windows, with factory defaults etc?

Thanks

it depends if anything backed up any of the data to that partition... probably not, but some setups do backup the 1st partition to the other (pretty pointless)

if you are that worried about it simply erase everything...?

I have done.

I've formatted, then used ActivDisk to write 0's to the drive.

As far as I know, the recovery parition wasn't seen by the O/S and therefore couldn't of had data written onto it?.

Im just asking if there is a possibilty of recovering that data if the recovery setup is launched?

( I don't have it, otherwise i would have tried it)

Thanks
