Hey there

Well I am looking at buying an E2180 2.00GHz Conroe, but I am looking at one now and it's listed as a 'Pentium Dual-Core', but on other websites this same CPU model is listed as being a 'Core 2 Duo', are they the same thing or what? I'm rather confused now lol, could anyone explain the different or if there actually is a difference?

Thanks for your help and time.

The E2*00 range are labeled Pentiums.

But they're nothing like the old Pentiums.

Both are.

It's a Core 2 Duo based CPU, but it's labeled as a Pentium Dual-Core.

the e2x00 are based upon the C2D CPUs but are named as pentiums, however the correct name for the range is pentium dual core.
