Hey there

So I am currently on a Tiscali Broadband line and I think we are planning to change to the Sky all in one package where you get your TV, Broadband and Phone for a certain price. My question is, if I cancel Tiscali tonight (and get my MAC code from them), and I contact Sky, how long would I be without the internet for? I already have one of those wireless modem routers they send out, mine looks exactly the same as the one they send apart from it's a Netgear one. Does this mean that I could get back onto the net on the same day or would it take a few days/week to get it sorted?

Thanks for your help and time.

If you get a MAC code from Tiscali, your current internet will work until you switch over. Getting a MAC code doesn't cancel your internet (unless your current ISP mess things up or have a stupid policy, quite possible, especially with Tiscali).

In theory, your internet will go down for anything between 5 minutes and an hour whilst it's changed over.

The only time you might have trouble is if Tiscali have moved you to their LLU setup, but that falls into the "stupid policy" Aekeron mentioned.
