Question regarding SSD+HDD before building my rig

I'm about to put together my new build but was wondering if it'd be fine to install Windows 7 64bit on the new SSD, and use that as my 'primary' drive (not sure of the terminology :p) and leave everything that I currently have on my HDD (it's the HDD from my old system) but delete Windows XP 32bit off it?

Basically, there's a bunch of stuff I want to keep on my current HDD, but I don't know if the new OS installed on the SSD would be able to access whatever I didn't delete.

Heh, spent literally weeks researching and choosing the right hardware, and now my lack of software knowledge is stopping me from finally enjoying all the 'work' and getting it up and running! :p

Basically yes. Though the SSD would need permission of erm.. what ever created the files on the HDD to move/delete or change them if I remember correctly. Is your HDD partitioned at all? Would make getting rid of Win xp easier (or you wouldn't have to get rid of it you could keep it on the HDD and run Win7 64Bit off the SSD with it having access to the files on the HDD) Please someone correct me if I'm wrong? :p

No the HDD isn't partitioned and the SSD is SATA III btw.

I may just bite the bullet and delete everything off the HDD actually. Just hope my World of Tanks progress is stored server-side rather than locally or I'll be royally cheesed off :p
