well I contacted the manufacturer directly, and I'm getting two different stories.. they claim ocuk has it while ocuk claims connect3d has it.. who am I to believe?

the reason I posted was to ask if anyone went through the same thing and whether or not I should involve trading standards, like Dreadi just mentioned. but after going through all of this just for a friggin RMA, I think I got my answer.

Well it took around 3 months to get my Logitech G7 mouse back from RMA and all overclockers kept relling me was there was nothing they do/ they didnt know anything and then it randomly pop up in an email one was being sent out. Check the powercolor RMA thread (if its still about) and read it, some good advice about waiting times and such but dont get slack

well I wish someone coulda said that on my first topic and locked it or atleast emailed me with a reason as to why it was just deleted. I assume ocuk don't want potential customers reading any posts that don't praise them, but censoring topics is taking it too far.

edit: isn't it against the law to make people wait that long though? I've never had to wait more than 3 days at most for an RMA...

The forums are separate from the shop.

Just deal with it.

Hehe. Yeah, so seperate that they use them to advertise new products and push product lines.

But apparently that stuff is okay because it's "good shop talk".

Spie pays for these forums, why should he be paying for users to **** off his company? Same goes for advertising good deals, why the hell not? He's paying for it!

It is ENTIRELY up to him what stays and goes on here, get used to it.

Normally the Don's do. On the rare occasion that i am suspended (accidentally bumped once in the members market! ) i generally get an email from them explaining why it's happened. I'd expect a thread deletion to get the same treatment.

I didn't think that word would be considered a swearword.. wow, does this community cater to a target audience of 12 year olds or something? we can't post 'negative' words or thoughts?

they should atleast have a specific forum dedicated to these kind of topics, it seems to me like theres NO way to complain about anything here. they don't have a complaints department or anything like that, they must really not care about their customers.

Why wouldn't the owner of the shop advertise on his own forums. :)

Sure, but then you should concede that the forums and the shop aren't seperate entities -- they're obviously related if the shop is advertising on them.

Not that I really care -- it's pretty obvious what purpose the forums serve.

They don't have a place for RMA's on the boards as the boards are not the shop as has been explained, only the shop can help, yes that is classed as a swear word as the forums are family friendly.

The only connection the shop has to the forums is that the owner of the shop set them up as i said, that is all. :)

Yes hes going to advertise on here as its his forum isn't it. :p

Its an all age forum so it needs to be kept as clean as possible tbh altho i think the post your girlfriend thread is pushing it to far if they really take this seriously (pick and choose?)

As stated, just hammer the shop by webnote/phone and then if nothing happens take further, more forcefulish steps to get answers (no, i dont mean start a fire in the warehouse either :p )

Family forum so yes... there may be 12yr olds!

lol @ the fire thing.
I just don't understand why as a customer I'm forced to chase them around for something I had no control over and should have been handled 20-30 days ago.. you don't see other retailers making you jump through hoops just to get a return.

as for the complaints department, I meant on the shop aswell.. theres no email or anything like that, they only have a webnote system for orders/rmas and a phone number for sales/technical support (which is more of a 'echo what the customer says' line).

(Sigh)... Just find out from else-where your legal standing, and then take it further with both parties concerned, end of debate. :)

see, thats the kind of advice I was looking for, as this was my first and last purchase from ocuk.
thanks for all the replies, hope I get to stick around :)

I didn't remove your thread, but we don't deal with individual RMAs on the forums because there are very few OcUK staff that frequent here.

In future if you have any questions about moderating decisions please email one of us rather than starting a thread about it.
