hi all,

Been looking into my new build and was looking at these parts..

Asus GeForce GTX 560Ti £169.99
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz £161.99
Asus P8Z68-V GEN3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) £144.98
Corsair Hydro H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler £99.98
Corsair Carbide 500R Midi Tower Case - Black £92.99
Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 £40.79

I already have 2x500GB HDDS and a Hiper modular Type-R 580W PSU. I will be overclocking and use PC mainly for gaming.

Questions I have..

1. Is the H100 gonna be over kill should I get a cheaper one like H60?
2. Will my current PSU be able to power all of this? (will be adding couple of colour fans to case prob too).
3. Any other tweaks ppl would suggest?

thx all

Memory probably too big for the silver arrow... you would need to get some low profile RAM...

and again check to see if the SA will fit in the case..

Perhaps it's time for a new PSU:

Have you considered the Thermalright Silver Arrow CPU cooler if it will fit in your case?

Had the PSU for good couple of years now never a problem with it. Just need to know if what I have will power what im after or not as Im at limit of my budget.

As for the thermallight cooler i was thinking a watercooling unit as be quieter. T'is a very nice cooler though, would be what I would conside if not the watercooling module

I don't think you'll find the watercooling units quieter than the Silver Arrow.

And, as has been said, you'll need low profile RAM so as not to interfere with the Silver Arrow.

use the code CMDOUBLE to get £20 off so its £597.46

info on the case+psu offer

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18347004

you can change the case if you don't like it, as long as its a coolermaster case you get the £20 off the psu.

the price on the ram is weekend only price and goes back up monday morning, so you have to order over the weekend to get it. otherwise currently(before the offer) the price was £12 more.

I would say that spec will give you more 'bangs for your bucks plus you get a better psu then your current one.

if you don't plan on pushing the cpu oc further than 4.6ghz then no need to spend £50-£100 on a cooler, if you want 4.8ghz+ then go with the silver arrow as mentioned or if you want a closed loop liquid cooler then go for the antec kuhler 620 or 920 they give similar performance to their equivalent corsair counterparts h60 or h80 but are cheaper.
