If I buy a set of two cordless digital home phones, which has two recharging docks, am I right in saying that only one dock needs to be plugged into a phone line wall socket?

Also, are there any particular brand recommendations for home phones, and particularly useful features to look for?

Thanks

Afaik with a multi handset package, you get a master base with the answer machine etc built in that needs to be plugged in to the phone line and then slave base stations that just charge the handsets.

Panasonic are a good brand.

Just confirming what others have said.. You get one main base station which you plug into an electric socket and phone line, this base station usually has an answer machine built in. The extra handsets all connect to the main base station. The docks for the extra handsets do nothing except charge the battery.

Another Panasonic user here, they are excellent.

I have a BT one. The feature that really bugs me is that when you clear the call list on one handset it remains on the other handsets. Do the Panasonics or Siemens allow you to delete all the lists at once?

I would be surprised. For all such phones, the two handsets each effectively act as a complete individual phone, with just a basic connection to the base unit. I know that if you add a number to the address book of one, for example, the other unit can't see it. Previously dialled numbers on one don't appear on the other. etc.
