questions on ps3 price drop

Wouldnt expect one to be honest, especially if the Xbox Elite is really going to be £330 (obviously deals will appear though) when you can get the PS3, an extra controller and 2 games for £425, and most places ive seen you get a blu ray film/HDMI cable or similar on top too.

you'll see a price drop in time for xmas, that a certainty. How much however I would guess the 2 games and two controllers bundle or something similar to be around 350 maybe 325.

If that happens ill be amazed, as companies would be making a huge loss on each deal just to get the consoles out the door. At present, where i am we are doing the console, 2 games, controller and HDMI cable for £425, and thats over £100 less than it was when the console was released, and considering how quickly its drooed compared to the 360 ill be surprised if we see any more big drops any time soon. Id expect one for xmas, but i really doubt they will drop approx 25% off their current retail price as thats just stupid IMO.

Frankly i cant see an official drop below £375ish.

I doubt we (Europe) will see a price drop before Chrimbo, Sony seems more likely to increase the harddrive space to >100GB

I've seen a bundle for 389£, that's including 1 extra controller, 2 games and HDMI cable :)

Saw a bundle yesterday in Manchester.

Console+

Any 2 games from F1, Motorstorm, Resistance and some others.
2 Blu Ray DVDs - Black Hawk Down and Casino Royale.
Playstation 3 Sixaxis Wireless Controller
.

I think it was £425.

I really cannot understand how anyone could call that bad value for money. I thought the console was worth it before the new bundles. It's a no-brainer now.

If only i had a spare £400. :(

Only rumours. These rumours have certainly accelerated since all the deals include 1 extra controller now, rumours being that Sony are getting rid of their stock of none rumble controllers.

£425 is a lot for a CONSOLE and 2 games, I don't want and don't need bluray.

in that case you wont be buying it then lol :p
i however i think will wait till around £300 for the console itself, only then would i look into the possibility of getting one. mind you i reckon your talking spring 08' for £300 and under

And for those who want and need bluray and who don't see £425 as a lot. It should be perfectly fine :p

The £389 offer looks nice

Gives you the offer of having

2 games and a PS3 console with a single pad.

Or 1 game, and a PS3 console with 2 pads.

But I'll wait till I've got my new TV first :p

Yeah well i have spent 470 on 360 gaming and didnt get blu-ray or HD-DVD. Because my premium broke and then i had to buy a core to replace it, because MS hadn't admitted the flaw yet. And on top of that i had to take my replacement back today cos that ALSO RRoD'd! I still have my launch PS2 that works, I have an xbox that is about 3 years old, and in the time i have had a PS3 i have been through 2 xbox 360's! And tbh i can see myself going through another one at least before next April.

I know what one is better value then :p

Is it too much to ask to just have an offer thats just the console with the one pad it comes with, no extra games, no extra blu-rays but at a lower price accordingly :(

Yeah because the price adjusted accordingly would be about a tenner.

Because it is all Sony products they can offset the profit they would have got from selling them, against an increase in sales of the console, and also any savings they are making now on the console.
Costs them buttons to throw in official Sony products, that's why they do it.

Trade them all in afterwards?? 3 games = £60-70, controller £15-20 Bd dont know maybe £10 for both. Just an idea, plus if use a reward card you get about £10 worth off credit, apporx £110 back for whatever else you want. Think if i didnt have one ,thats what i would do if didnt want the games or extra controller.

This is exactly what I'm going to do if bundles are still around by christmas, did the same with my xbox launch bundle.
