Where do you think we came from?
I think we have grown into what we are today, I dont believe we evolved from apes but I do believe there is simply a very strong resemblence. our brain might have been at a similar level but then so is a cats to a dogs, a whale to a shark and a rat to a mouse.
I think we have always been humans, even as cavemen we was never described as apes, the person to have invented the wheel certainly wasnt an ape. when a species evolves, the whole species evolves, not a segment of it. in argument though you can compare the sub catagories to seperate, compare a black man to a white man and you can easily see different features. this is the equivelant of comparing types of horse, there are types of human of which are by coincidence seem to originate from particular parts of the world.
whether evolution depends on where you are in the world or not I do not know but it does bring up new questions. apparently all life is meant to have originated from africa. and yet to the north of this is the sahara desert, the most dead of all deadlands. but in argument to that, look at south america which broke away during the prehistoric period. (no humans inhabited the land to my knowledge although Im probably wrong.) that flourished possibly to lack of human inhabitance. but now as you hear all the time the rainforests are being cleared. I really cant say and I am now trailing off subject.
to answer the evolution of ourselves - I would like to think we are getting more evolved over time but I highly doubt it as what proof is there? our technology? our technology is developed work from our ancestors, the first still camera was in the 1800's and possibly researched before that (you can easily google that as I done a paper on it before) but our technology is made not from our brains improving, but our research and understanding expanding. you dont see us changing - you see our creations changing and at a much much faster rate to the point where we can say we are acting as gods (cloning/artificial intelligence/robotics etc etc). But us evolve? no - I just think we have a potential to be better people as long as we permit ourselves to stop, think of the correct way and do it rather than thinking and doing blindly.
look at our laws. they are far far far from perfect and we openly acknowledge this. but what do we do to stop it? how long did it take to stop capital punishment? why are americans allowed to hold deadly weapons in public after all the deaths caused by it? why is a single person defendent innocent until proven guilty, but a business is guilty and has to prove its innocence?
again to my initial statement. We have always had this capacity to understand and learn, but the data must be given to us first and that is what stops us.
I cant see us changing thinking about it. look at the apes, gorrillas, dolphins, seaguls, the platupus, penguin and many other creatures we dont so much have data on. admittedly we havent studied long enough to be able to prove the evolutionary theory, but we have been around since the stoneage, and all that has changed is what we have learned and not us ourselves.
