Do these have the clock 'lock' that the 3850 and 3870s had?

I see some reports of not being able to get above certain speeds.

If someone could let me know what is required to get around them, I'd be grateful.

I'm guessing RBE from TechPowerUp and / or ATITool?

Do these have software volt changes like the X1900 did? I'm fine with hardware mod, reading XS now... ;)

CCC Overdrive and BIOS mod if you want to go over 700 core. (or you can use the AMD clocking util, but you'll loose manual fan control)

You need to replace the stock heatsink to get past 700 with stability. It is pants and really holds the card back.

Accelero S1 + pencil vmod = 800+

but CCC Overdrive won't work if u mod the bios. example upping the voltage to 1.2v.

is there a update bios from ati for the 4850 like the 4870 has? or is there a TOP bios for it?

Has anyone got a good BIOS for a 4850, preferably with upped voltages. I've tried a couple and they haven't worked at all.

700/1100 is nice and stable :)
