Quick advice on SSD choice

Hi guys, looking at the Vertex 96gb drive http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-050-OC&groupid=1657&catid=1660&subcat=1668 while it is has £40 knocked off it.

I realise It doesnt have high write times, but it would be used for my OS + stuff like office, 3d modelling applications and a few games. Im guessing the write times wont really come into it?

Is it worth snapping one up (for my uses) or is it worth waiting?

Well I went for the Vertex 96 gb

Installed windows 7, benchie:

Compared to others my read seems a little low. Is this there a known best configuration for OCZ drives? Ive looked online but cant find anything meaningful

Nice one for posting that bench mate!!

Now compare that to the other benches in this SSD bench thread. Be careful to ignore anyone with multiple SSDs in RAID, or with external controllers.

I mean just for example... compare that 164 score against this SSD which costs just a shade over 100 quid.

You are using IDE thats why you have a very low score. Secure erase your SSD using HDD Erase and re-install your OS using AHCI and install Intel IRST driver for a much better performance. If you want the best set up for your SSD, head to OCZ forum and you will find a lot of tweaks and support from other OCZ user that can make your system fly.
