My A8N SLI had the usual chipset fan prob so I replaced it with a Zalman Northbridge cooler. My question is this: Im using Everest Home Edition to monitor the computer and the temps are as follow:
Mobo at idle 35c
CPU 32c
GPU 41c
GPU Ambient 39c

I presume its the motherboard temp I need to watch? What should it go up to underload? Am I right in disabling the CHIP fan in bios (because there is not one now!)

Thanks but I would hate it to overheat.

Your prob is quite simply that Everest is not dedicated monitoring software as such, so it may be getting a reading from any diode it sees fit.

I have to admit that seems normal, but it's not a very accurate way of doing it.

If you had measured it with the last cooling solution, and seen a increase, then fair to say what you now have is not as good or vice versa if you got a decrease temp.

Didn't ASUS chuck the Probe in with the board (ASUS probe that is) ?

Look over here for your board under utilities

ASUS PC Probe II V1.00.43 Install Program for Windows 2000/XP/2003 & for Windows 64bit XP/2003.

I know it gets slagged off, but its prolly better than everest for what your doing.

Ok I have installed Asus probe and under load the mobo temps only rise slightly. At idle the mobo temp reads 33c. Looks ok do you agree?
