Quick bank transfer question

I never usually make a bank transfer but I have to make a transaction with someone from mm and their preference is a bank transfer. I bank with RBS and he wants a transfer to Natwest. Would it cost me to make a transfer form my bank?

I locked myself out of RBS's online banking site

Then you might have to wait or do something special e.g. ring them up to reactivate your online banking privilages.

I think that all banks allow free transfer of funds to another UK bank via the internet.

Won't cost you anything. Will take a few days to clear.

How about paying over the desk at RBS?

If you're going to go into a bank, go into Natwest. If you're paying cash it will be instant.

no you have to pay at a natwest branch

IIRC both RBS & Natwest are both part of the same group, so it should clear instantly?

Although your statement is true, they are essentially different banks and thus, if wired using online banking, will take 3 days.
